WEEKEND REFLECTIONS


OR SO WE THOUGHT

Summer was coming, or so we thought.

This was only Spring

And down by the beach, at the Surf House,

People were gathering.

They were soaking up the sunshine,

Which had surely come to stay;

They were celebrating heat and sun

In a truly Aussie way.

But, since then, it has rained and rained,

Or else grey skies have ruled.

So much for 'The Lucky Country'.

I think we all were fooled.

Pretty little Fairy Fay

Found a human shoe one day.

It smelt so bad, she thought it wiser

To doctor it with deodoriser.
